Volunteer Solutions (VS) is a Web-based application offered by United eWay that matches nonprofit organizations with individuals and groups volunteering their time, talents, and resources to strengthen their communities.
VS is designed for three types of users:
Administrators: Employees of Volunteer Centers – organizations that purchase and host VS to help match volunteers and Agencies in their communities. Administrators maintain the VS site, approve Agency- and volunteer-generated records and content, market events and volunteer opportunities, and administer Agency and volunteer accounts.
Agencies: Organizations that wish to recruit volunteers to help with tasks and projects. Agencies use VS to create volunteer opportunity listings, track and respond to volunteer inquiries (referrals), and create projects for community events.
Volunteers: Individuals and groups seeking volunteer opportunities. Volunteers search for and respond to volunteer opportunities, sign up for community events, track their volunteer hours, and rate volunteer opportunities for other volunteers by writing reflections.
Optional VS features that Administrators can enable allow Agencies to solicit donations of goods and services and candidates for board positions, volunteers to donate money online, and Administrators to respond effectively to large-scale crises or disasters.
This guide is designed to help you understand the functionality of the
Volunteer Solutions (referred to throughout this guide as VS) system.
It should
be used in conjunction with the Help icons found within the
system.
What you will see in VS and how you will use it depend on which of the above types of users you are. Click on the link in the “Related Topics” section below that lists your VS user role for a more detailed introduction to VS and instructions on how to use it.
