Once you have browsed for and found a board position listing that interests you, you can submit an application to be considered for it. In order to apply, you must have a Board Connections profile; if you have not already created this profile, you will be prompted to do so before you can complete the application.
To apply for a board position:
Following the instructions in Browsing Board Positions, find the board position you would like to apply for and display its full text.
Find and click the link labeled Apply for this position at the bottom of the listing. If you have not created a Board Connections profile, VS will prompt you to do so (see Creating Your Board Connections Profile for instructions, if needed).
On the Send Email to Contact for [Position Name] page (where [Position Name] is the title of the position listing), review the draft position-inquiry email VS generates to be sent to the indicated contact at the Agency offering the board position. Make any desired changes or additions. Note that your Board Connections profile will be automatically be appended to the position inquiry; you can click the board profile link to make changes to your profile before it is sent (see Modifying Your Board Connections Profile for instructions, if needed).
Type the code displayed in the validation image into the Please enter the letters or numbers on the right to continue field (this is an anti-spam feature).
Click the Send email message button.
VS sends your application to the Agency contact, who will review your application and get in touch with you to discuss the opportunity and your qualifications in greater detail. It also saves your application so you can track its progress.
